just listen~

To all the lonely souls in this dark place
To every wandering heart who's lost their way
Doubting dreamers, waiting for open doors
And troubled thinkers, looking for something more

There is Peace in the Blood of Jesus
Cast yourselves before God's holy throne
He will never turn away the broken hearted
You never were, or ever will be, alone.
His love and His grace will uphold you
His power will conquer your doubt
Forgiveness ever flows from His wounds
His blood will ever pour out
For those whom He calls He will keep
and those who are His are secure
For He alone has conquered the deep
In His light, darkness reigns never more.

Such a Time as This~ song

a new song for my bluegrass/acoustic band...just finished it last night :) the statement "you were born for such a time as this" has been popping up in my life quite a lot lately, so i figured maybe God wanted me to actually listen to it... :) so that is what this song is about: how God perfectly places us in the perfect moment of his redemptive history for his perfect purpose for our lives to be fulfilled in us. :) ♥
V1
somewhere in my high-school years i gotta little lost
looking for direction, and if my dreams were worth the cost
everybody else seemed to have life all planned out
But i was still tryin' to find out what mine's about
V2
well Sunday morning rolled around, i grabbed the good Lord's book
dusted off the cover, and decided to take a look
i opened up to Esther in a time of great fear
and sweet ole cousin Mordecai whispered in her ear
Ch1
you were born for such a time as this
oh you were born for such a time as this
you may be just one girl
but its up to you to change the world
you were born for such a time as this
V3
Monday came so that meant all day in a desk again.
My teacher talking 'bout this country goin down the drain
But every class he'd proudly say "God Bless America"
He'd look us in the eyes sayin' "its time to stand up!
Ch2
'cus
you were born for such a time as this
oh you were born for such a time as this
just one strong generation
can change an entire nation
you were born for such a time as this
V4
well i grew up a little, and suddenly i see
no matter what i do in life, God's got big plans for me
So I will use my time on earth to spread the good Lord's news
Cus if we fight, for what is right, there aint no way we'll lose
Ch3
we were born for such a time as this
oh we were born for such a time as this
all it takes is just one voice,
to turn this silence into noise
oh we were born for such a time as this

we were born for such a time as this
ya we were born for such a time as this
so we will spread his light,
keep the faith and fight the fight
we were born for such a time as this

Lighthouse of the free~ poem

This is a longer poem- more of a sonnet actually- it is a parody off of the famous "Lady of Shallott" and used the same rhyme scheme. enjoy :)

In the shadows of the night
A land of storm, a land of fright
Ever haunting is the sight
Of ghostly blaze, of eerie light
Shining through the sea
Waves rage, they crash and churn
Merchant ships toss and turn
But from land, lanterns burn:
The Lighthouse of the Free

Gazing on the gale below
Waters flood, as winds blow
She watches from her high window
Tending the light, keeping its glow
Young Eliza Lee
On her own, day by day
She guides ships that lose their way
And in the house, she must stay:
The Lighthouse of the Free

For she was told, long before
To tend the beacon, evermore
To never walk upon the shore
Or sail above the ocean floor,
Young Eliza Lee
And if she chose to be so bold
To break the rules, the laws of old
Then light would die, the tale foretold:
The Lighthouse of the Free

And so she stays, in silence still
Staring out her windowsill
Longing for a taste of thrill
For love to warm her lonely chill
Young Eliza Lee
She longs the coming of the day
With freedom of the beacon’s ray
And From the house, she’d fly away
The Lighthouse of the Free

So chaotic is the view
Of the deep, tumultuous blue
Which she all too closely knew
But on shore, lies something new
To Eliza Lee
A man stands- a cloaked, dark form
Struggling to fight through the storm
Seeking shelter- safe and warm:
The Lighthouse of the Free

When through her silence, as rains pour
A knock ignites her fear, for
There’s never been a guest before
To enter through her rustic door:
Young Eliza Lee
As she presents herself to him
They meet by candle light so dim
She shyly bids him enter in:
The Lighthouse of the Free

While they talk, by light so pale
He tells her of his love to sail
His near shipwreck, due to the gale
And how he lives to tell the tale
To Eliza Lee
Everything has come to light
She slept her last sleepless night
Trapped inside this house of fright
The Lighthouse of the Free

Infatuated by this man
She swiftly takes him by the hand
And tells him of how she has planned
To sail way from this dark land
Young Eliza Lee
Worried of the ocean’s power
He begs her to wait an hour
Till clouds part and cease to shower
The Lighthouse of the Free

But, still upon the ship they go
To brave the peaking waves below
And caught within the winds that blow
Off they fly by water’s flow
Young Eliza Lee
But she’s forgotten truth and fled
The consequences have been said
And so the beacon’s light is dead.
The Lighthouse of the Free

So in the shadows of the night
A land of storm, a land of fright
All is dark, there is no sight
No ghostly blaze, No eerie light
For Eliza Lee
Waves rage, they crash and churn
Lost, the ship shall not return
Never more shall lanterns burn:
The Lighthouse of the Free

Somewhere~ poem

Winds are raging
storms keep chasing
doubtfull fears into my heart
clouds grow thicker
rain falls quicker
holding me down in this dark
where is he
who calms the sea
and holds the heavans in his hand
has this black sky
covered his eye
from seeing that i cannot stand
when will i feel
his peace is real
and fully conquer all my fear
i know he's there
somehow, somewhere
but why do i not feel hes near.

Moonsong~ poem

Every word starts with s, just because :)

Sweetly saying sounds so soft,
she sings so secretly simple songs,
soothing silence's savage sting,
Shattering suspicions,
swallowing shadows.
Severing stillness so softly, so slowly,
she serenades scared souls still sleeping so sound,
"sunlight shall shine, soon so soon,
splashing so swiftly, submerging still slumber.
so sleep, sweet souls, sleep softly, sleep safe.
sunlight shall shine, so soon, so soon." <3
